Located in a nondescript shopping mall in Zhengzhou, JHW is a pioneering concept for Henan province’s capital city, exclusively stocks emerging Chinese designers, featuring domestic street-style menswear brands. The client seeks to promote local young designers and create a platform for fashion events in the 405 sqm two-stories store.
The architects boldly applied washed granolithic plaster as the main material for interior walls and floors to create a sterile background. A greyscale palette of two materials – washed granolithic plaster juxtaposed with brushed stainless steel, pops of color from the carefully curated selection of designer garments on stainless steel racks contrast against the austere all-grey interior.
