The design for London-based mensware store Trunk in Zurich is characterized by a clever and efficient use of the available space. Trunk literally means “suitcase”. Based on the classic suitcase, a wooden room sculpture combines the functions of a cash register, a changing room and a wardrobe. Accessories from all over the world are presented on a large display table with two levels. The warm, cozy atmosphere is created by a mix of oak wood with dark vintage furniture, a sisal floor and dark green fabrics. The “Porter” shelving system, designed by MACH for the London stores, was of course also applied. For Zurich, MACH developed a new flexible wooden wall, which constantly stages highlights in a new and exciting way.
