You won’t be seeing swags, medallions, flowers and shields here as you would in most Ladurée salons in the world. It was one of the most challenging briefs taken; as we had a free-hand to design the first store in Malaysia, and were provided a simple brand DNA as a guide. We were to transform a heritage brand that has started since 1862 and transport it to the 21st Century. We borrowed the concept on the niche “Adam’s style”; where they took the French neoclassic origins and advocated integration between architecture and interiors with the aim to simplify the Rococo and Baroque styles that were in vogue then, while adding a sense of chic. We hope you will find a host of macarons, tarts as rich indulgent as the spatial experience.
