“YAKINI KU MARUGO” is a new type of Yakiniku, Japanese BBQ, restaurant that run by a group a mainly operates wine bars in Shinjuku and Marunouchi. Since exhaust ducts needs to come down to tables from the ceiling due to restrictions of the business type, all seats are fixed. I tried to create the feeling of a bar not looking like traditional Yakiniku restaurants.
With the counter seats, private rooms and an L-shaped high-back bench seat in the center of the restaurant, I tried creating a sense of unity. Customers can feel the smell of Asia, it is neither Japanese nor Western, it is not too casual but not too luxurious, but it is a new mysterious space that is as spicy as mustard.
