This year, Munich expanded its retail presence in the homeland, including a new outpost in Málaga. The footwear manufacturer picked a location at Designer Outlet Málaga, a mall complex just south of the airport, and similarly to all other stores, it flaunts a striking, site-specific interior design. Once again, Barcelona-based company tapped Spanish design agency Studio Animal to create a matching design for the elongated 78 sqm. (840 sq.ft.) ground floor unit, and the result is both playful and clever. On either side of the store 10-metre stepped walls have been installed, but each staggered in an opposite direction, creating an elegant visual rhythm which is magnified by mirrored ceiling and the fact that the entire shop is dipped in a single hue. Munich‘s shoe collection is presented on one side, while the side with the reversed steps sees the brand’s bag offerings presented on hooks and a series of small display tables, and quite matching with mirror tops and yellow legs. The shape of the stepped walls creates a concealed storage space on one side of the store. The new Munich store carries a selection its elaborate product range of footwear, bags and accessories.
