sshape completed the energizing and comfortable offices for the Democratic Attorneys General Association located in Washington DC. The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) design demands had the designers walking a thin line. They wanted their office to reflect two competing styles: one buttoned-up to suit the attorneys general and government dignitaries they’d host on a regular basis and the other untucked to keep the staff and any events they might throw energized, excited and comfortable.

The design team hit the former criterion with sleek glass, simple geometric carpeting and soft blue and orange finishes, but softened the edges by rendering social and collaborative spaces curvilinearly, theming the office after DAGA’s logo — a billowing American flag.

The office is flexible, mutable and coolly balances the two competing styles, meeting the imposed challenges head on and successfully walking that line.
