The Aquazzura brand is known the world over as the ultimate in women’s shoes. Founded only in 2011 by Colombian designer Edgardo Osorio and business partner Ricardo de Almeida Figueiredo, it has become a fav of a discerning clientele, opening boutiques in both fashion capitals and affluent pockets across the planet, such as New York, São Paulo, London, Milan, Dubai, and now, at long last, also in Paris. The Florence-based luxury cobbler has secured a location at the far western end of rue du Faubourg-St.-Honoré, in the leafy L’Europe area of town, and has once again collaborated with Lisbon-based interior design practice and longtime collaborator Casa do Passadiço to create a fitting retail setting.
Inspired by the elegance of the French capital and brand’s contemporary style, the store sees a façade in bright yellow that’s paired with Aquazzura‘s signature black and white stripes inside, oozing a playful chic. The cheerful hue extends indoors, playfully captured by the lower half of the premises which comprises walls, wool carpeting, shelves and displays. The upper half of the walls are decorated with bespoke, Art Deco-inspired waffle panels that depict tropical foliage and savannah animals. An elongated and tiered volume, crafted from stone blocks takes centre stage, serving as both display and seating with black and white cushions. The new Aquazzura store carries the brand’s full range of women’s shoes.
