Pivot Park in Oss is an inspiring campus for open innovation in the life sciences. For starters and existing companies. Pivot Park was created in February 2012 from an initiative of the pharmaceutical company MSD in close collaboration with five partners: the province of Noord-Brabant, the municipality of Oss, the Dutch ministries of Economic Affairs and of Health, Welfare and Sport, and the Brabant Development Company. (BOM). The Province of Noord-Brabant is the shareholder of Pivot Park.
With the Marie Curie building, before also known as Grizzly, a more than 11,000 m2 new multi-tenant building is being realized. The building will provide office and laboratory space for scale-ups and growing companies in the pharmaceutical sector. In addition to the research areas, Marie Curie provides shared meeting facilities, co-working zones, roof terraces and a range of meeting places. The central atrium is accessible to all users. The shared functions are spread over the atrium. By carefully designing transparency, walking lines, (sight) distances and the strategic positioning of the various shared facilities, knowledge sharing is promoted without losing sight of the privacy of individual tenants. The atrium will be the beating heart of Marie Curie. It cannot be read in one go, but unfolds in a different way on each floor.
The basic floor plan is divided into 4 quadrants. Each quadrant forms a rentable space of approximately 250m2. These can easily be switched, so that a tenant can eventually also lease an entire building layer. However, the atrium will always be accessible. The chemical and biological laboratories are flexible and can be used modularly to meet the diverse requirements in the development of new medicines or related pharmaceutical research.
Pivot Park pursues a high sustainability ambition. Marie Curie is being developed in accordance with future NZEB legislation. The construction of Marie Curie started in March 2022 and delivery was in the end of 2023.
