The European retail expansion of MAAP has reached yet another major capital—Berlin. The cycling apparel brand has secured a unit of approx. 217 sqm. (2,336 sq.ft.) on the ground floor of a residential building erected in 1890 in the city’s Mitte district. The interior design, created by its in-house design team at home base Melbourne, Reflecting MAAP‘s passionate focus on life around bikes, indeed, that’s what ‘LaB’ stands for, the interior is understated and practical, but also welcoming, since the MAAP LaB Berlin space also serves as a social hub for a vibrant local community. A steel display table in bright blue takes centre stage, flanked by a service counter and bar, and bar-style seating. Display panels, presenting MAAP merchandise, line the walls, tying in with the aforementioned service counter and the window displays. Two large LED screens, situated on either side of the store, feature branded footage. MAAP LaB Berlin stocks men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, and all collab items. As said, store is also a meeting place for kindred spirits, celebrating the culture, art and innovation of the sport of cycling, and as such, it’ll host a rotating programme of events, in-store activations, exclusive kit drops, and group rides. © superfuture
