As far as we know, this is CELINE‘s very first major store opening since Michael Rider‘s recent tenure at the revered fashion house, and obviously, it shows. We’re talking the new and relocated CELINE boutique in Los Angeles, or more specifically, the gilded shopping grounds of Rodeo Drive. Wedged in between the Dior on one side, and The store occupies approx. 511 sqm. (5,500 sq.ft.), the interior design has been designed in-house with Rider firmly at the helm. Less pristine high-fashion shrine, it’s however equally sophisticated, but with mortals in mind—albeit ones with distinctive taste. Still understated, but more welcoming and tapped into urban life, sleek furnishings and fixtures are still mixed and matched with a range of carefully curated pieces, such as a large wooden display table, antique bronze shelving, full-height mirrored panels, and a specially commissioned speaker installation by Paris-based designer Matéo Garcia, which comes with seating area comprising an L-shaped sofa with undulating backrest, a cutesy chair with soft pink upholstering, and a salon table with a tiled-up top. Further elevating the shopping experience is a series of artworks by Jean Fautrier, Andy Warhol, David Armstrong and Kai Nielsen. The new CELINE store carries women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes and small leather goods, the CELINE Haute Parfumerie collection and beauty products, in addition to items from the Maison collection, silks and exclusive variations of the Nino, Luggage and Frame bags in precious leathers. © superfuture
