Founded in Amsterdam by Alexandra Schott, a seasoned branding and marketing consultant, and social entrepreneur Bas Slootman, Arcatype is a multidisciplinary production studio designing experiences around thoughtful brands both physical and digital. A little while ago, its very first exhibiition, called A Space for Time, has opened at home base Amsterdam. Held at The Gent, newly opened office space on the premises of a monumental listed building from the early 20th century in the city’s Canal District, the show sees a curated and varied number of emerging brands and creatives across fashion, interior and lifestyle with a slower and more considerate entrepreneurial approach. Each participant is selected against three pillars: Craft, Character, and Care. The first week. aligned with Amsterdam Fashion Week, brought a private press opening with a live Gamelan performance by Global Gongs, a retail leaders luncheon, an intimate re-see of the debut collection by designer duo tjeerd marie, along with a celebration for the network of friends. Additionally, Kentroy Yearwood launched a one-day pop-up brimming with earlier pieces, samples, and one-off garments. The second and final week aligns with this year’s GLUE Amsterdam edition (on through Sep 20). The list of exhibitors includes:
