STLH Architekten were commissioned to design the interior and the facade of a new restaurent at Mühlenkamp 8, Hamburg. The 34 seats of the small and exquisite italian „Ristorante Pittarello“, run by father and son Giancarlo and Dario Pittarello, are situated on two different levels which are connected by a small stair.

The two different levels of the restaurant are emphasized by the floor material, tiles in the street oriented level, and wooden floorboards in the higher, rear level. The bar is planned around a vintage Faema E61 espresso machine. The dominating material combination is marble and brass, together with black lacquered furniture covers. The wine refrigerator is integrated in this central design piece as well. The highlight oft he bar area is the brass chandelier with 6 transparent blown glass spheres. Brass lighting fixtures round off the material composition towards the seating zone. The built-in benches are upholstered in finest dark green leather, the tabletops made of vintage oak floorboards.
