NOR Sky Casual Restaurant is the most recent concept by interior design studio Picktwo. The restaurant is located in the Skytower building, Romania’s tallest landmark, which measures 136 meters in height. Located at the very top, on the 36th floor, this is one of the tallest restaurant venues in Eastern Europe. The concept we designed was inspired by retro-american restaurants, but in a modern, more contemporary line. The overall simple design that emphasizes the skyline and view over Bucharest.
We used walnut wood textures and rough iron framing, all in contrast with the brass chandeliers and vintage mirror decorations. The bar is covered with handmade ceramic tiles and the entrance floor pattern was custom-made by Tarkett according to a pattern we designed. The couches are part of a custom-made plan, as there are no two identical modules. Accordingly, table tops and bases had to be custom made also, to fit the resulting shapes. The project took almost an year to complete, and can now host 230 guests per service in almost 700 sqm of space.
