Boram Food, a prominent food distribution company in Busan, sought to redefine its presence with a new headquarters and a cafe bakery space in Hwakjang-dong, Sasang-gu, embodying the essence of a food distribution platform. The company aimed to soften its somewhat rigid corporate image, creating a brand experience that feels more approachable and friendly to the general consumer.
Located in Busan’s industrial zone, surrounded by factories and offices, the area’s stark, grey environment underscored the need for a space infused with soft content to gently soften the overall ambiance of the space and the region.
The design concept for Bybor began with a focus on baking and confectionery classes and showcasing related products, intending to visualize the dough mixing and baking process through bold graphics. The design used sky blue and yellow as primary colors to contrast and highlight the natural appeal of the ingredients, effectively characterizing the intuitive charm of raw materials.
By contemporaneously expressing lines, masses, and the authentic texture of materials’ surfaces, the design aimed to blend conventional and unconventional forms, linear and planar elements, monochrome and saturated colors over time. This approach sought to encapsulate the natural essence of raw materials and the meticulous care in their preparation, integrating these values within the space and the brand’s message, offering a unique experience only Bybor could provide.
