Quiet luxury isn’t just about fashion, but equally counts in hospitality, and the newly opened Nomos Hotel ticks all the boxes. Situated in a maze of alleyways in the historic Regola neighbourhood in downtown Rome, the five-star hotel occupies a fully renovated 18th-century building and former Franciscan monastery. Featuring just 31 guest rooms set across five floors, the premises have been meticulously designed by Henry Timi, an Italian designer, artist and gallerist based in both Milan and the Italian capital. As a designer, Timi is known for his craftsmanship and use of raw materials, such as marble, concrete and wood, and this is reflected throughout the premises. The interior design seamlessly blends the building’s rich architectural details with new interventions, creating understated yet warm, intimate, monochrome settings, which are void of usual luxury elements, and instead, ooze a meditative calm that incites a deeper level of relaxation.
Needless to say, given the fact that this is a five-star property, both comfort and amenities are second to none. In a city renowned for its abundant culinary delights, Nomos Hotel contributes with two alluring, on-site establishments of its own. Situated in the courtyard is Nomos Bar, a cozy gathering place encased in intricate brick layering, and furnished with robust travertine furnishings. Here, an American-style bar serves refined cocktails, wines, and obviously, bites, either made with or using carefully selected ingredients. The Nomos Ante restaurant, headed by seasoned Roman chef Giulio Zoli, ups the ante with a sophisticated cuisine which is best described as one reflects a wealth of experiences across the planet translated into a personal and free style in constant dialogue between technique memory and cultural fusion. Similar to the bar, the restaurant setting is restrained yet cozy and intimate, featuring a vaulted room with large windows and sturdy wooden furnishings. © superfuture
