Quicken Loans has moved 6000 team members to Downtown Detroit since August 2010. The goal? To revitalize Detroit into a vibrant and energetic tech hub. The company has purchased a total of nine buildings, which each have a different look and feel. But for the purposes of today’s tour, we get to see three – The M@dison Building, The Chase Building, and the Compuware Building.
“Vibrant colors, open, collaborative work environments, ping pong tables: When you think of creative office space, a mortgage company is probably the last place to come to mind. But these are just the starting points at Quicken Loans’ new downtown Detroit campus.
Graffiti from local artists decorate the walls and floors, razor scooters zip around every corner, kitchens feature popcorn and slushy machines, and bright colors cover every hallway (even scratch-and-sniff wallpaper is used in our space). And since work should always be fun, there are ping pong tables and a replica Cleveland Cavaliers basketball court.” The M@dison building is designed to include both QL offices and an entrepreneurial hub of creative and technology companies.
