A little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll is what you’ll find when you enter Old Crow Smokehouse, the latest from Chicago based designer, Rocco Laudizio and Slick+Designusa. The newest addition to Lakeview’s popular Wrigleyville strip is serving up an eclectic BBQ inspired menu in true slick style.

The 11,000 square foot space was designed with the concept of city meets country, laying the groundwork for a unique experience in Chicago. Industrial elements such as steel clad columns, corrugated metal at the bars and poured concrete floors pay homage to Chicago’s industrial background. This industrial edge is softened with a juxtaposition of rustic barn wood throughout the space. Reclaimed barnwood clads the walls in variations of weathered grey, schoolhouse red and pastoral brown barn board that harken back to simpler days in the country.

Old Crow Smokehouse is comprised of two separate spaces. One side is an expansive hall, featuring a concert stage for live music acts and live band karaoke reminiscent of old barn house jamborees. Separated by folding wood and glass doors, the north side of Old Crow Smokehouse features an 80 foot retractable glass roof that makes the smaller, yet still sizable, side seem never ending. Both spaces feature 14 feet of high definition matrix TVs for unhindered viewing of sporting events. Rustic communal tables flanked with industrial inspired custom wood and steel stools run parallel to 60 foot wood bars with a row of eight 70 inch flat screen TVs above.

A large wood and perforated metal staircase leads up to the incredible roof top that will be built in the second phase of the design and open for the next spring and summer season bringing the total finished square footage to a monumental 15,000 square feet. Construction is underway for the second location of Old Crow Smokehouse in Schaumburg, Illinois. The same smokin’ hot concept, different locale, set to open in spring 2014.
