Aurora restaurant and bar by Barmade Interior Design, Zurich – Switzerland

July 23rd, 2014 by retail design blog

The recently opened restaurant „Aurora“, designed by the interior architects of Barmade, is located in the main shopping street „Bahnhofstrasse“ in Zurich. Due to the prominent location the task was to create an extraordinary and high-class modern design with a touch of elegance. Offering an amazing view to the shopping street the restaurant is located on the first floor. Lit up by the wide window facade the focus on dark wood creates a comfortable and cosy room atmosphere. Magenta as an intense and warm color refers to the blossoming of flowers while the twisted wooden elements seem to birst the walls and open the room. Golden accents complete the design and perfect the setting for the culinary delights.

Barmade placed the buffet carcass central and free standing to support the waiter services but yet kept it transparently separated from the dining area to preserve the dimensions of the room. Golden pendant luminaires put a focus on each window recess and at the same time attract the passerby’s attention at night. Attached to the restaurant the Aurora also provides a bar on the ground floor. The top of the bar carcass is covered with a special golden fabric. Illuminated from the back by night it becomes slightly transparent and reveals the glasses and liquors behind the fabric.
