UpSide Craft restaurant by Input Creative Studio, New York – USA

December 31st, 2016 by retail design blog

Upside is a craft burger restaurant that was designed to evoke an inviting atmosphere that captures the nostalgia of a neighborhood mom and pop shop. The casual elegant vibe was curated to stand the test and time and comfort the end user through the use of warm tones and texture. Upon entering, diners view a large feature wall composed of reclaimed wood planks and original artwork that sets the tone for the rest of the space.

Reclaimed wood continues onto the white pegboard ceiling, exhibiting the use of familiar materials used in unconventional ways. Yellow accents have been incorporated to break up the natural tones and provide punch to the light fixtures and furniture. A central communal table, features a custom cinderblock base and natural wood top that is grounded with three industrial pendants.

The cinderblock is carried to the kitchen wall and bar base, unifying the use of simple and easily attainable materials. Custom painted icons cover the two entry walls in homage to vintage patterned tile, while two tone painted walls help to elevate the ceiling height. Refreshing, eclectic, yet simple, Upside is a destination not to be missed by any food or design enthusiasts.
