Ammos restaurant beach bar by Gruppo Decorativo, Kyparissia – Greece

One of our new project was located in Kyparissia, Peloponnese. The main goal was to harmonize construction with nature. Therefore, the materials and colors had to be in accordance with the local environment. Natural wood, rope and fabrics were some of the materials that we chose for this project. The result satisfied us and we believe that the same will happen with all those who visit it.

Although I agree in principal it seems that only one color out of many was taken out of the environment. More precisely, the name, Ammos (sand), has more to do with the decor than the surrounding environment. As such, the decor resembles the lifeless sand it sits on. It is more reminiscent of a desert than a beach front eatery. Although I frequent Ammos often, I can’t help feel that a few more colors would’ve given it a much better vibe. Kind of concerned what effect the lack of life/color in the decor scheme during the winter months….
