Every year, artists and designers are selected to construct an Icehotel suite during the months of November and December – multi-disciplinary designer Wouter Biegelaar was asked to create the latest iteration called ‘Iceberg Suite 315’. Every part of the room is carefully carved from ice – even the tufted walls which then melts away during the late spring. By day the rooms form the gallery of the hotel, visited by 30,000 people every winter, and slept in by 15,000 international guests during the season.
