The ‘Ki-Oke stool’ designed by Danish design studio OeO and crafted by Shuji Nakagawa for Japan Handmade fuses the fine tradition of Kyoto woodcrafting with western sensibilities – the result an object fabricated from either Japanese cypress (Sawara) and in a limited edition lignified Japanese cedar (Jindai-sugi) with a natural, 2,0000 year old patina. The ‘Ki-Oke’ stool was presented at Maison et Objet 2013 in Paris.
