Premium cosmetics brand Laura Mercier is debuting in the Singaporean department store Tangs in a bespoke retail environment designed by retail design experts Sheridan&Co. Laura Mercier’s challenge from Tangs was to be different and exploit an unusual pebble shaped floorplate. The brand’s brief to Sheridan&Co was to create a luxe experience with intimate moments for shoppers.

Sheridan&Co’s designers responded with a fresh and modern feel with a feature lattice structure that provided a visual boundary without being exclusionary. The brand’s cues are represented with signature Laura Mercier delicate furniture, including a foundation table and welcoming seating. The ceiling lights not only give light but add an artistic flair. The installation features a glass-top table with an approachable curve and a countertop underpainted in white for a frosted appearance with soft delicate solid white oak legs. Consultation and make-up artist chairs play a starring role, whilst a lounge and waiting area offer luxury and a comfortable respite.

Kevin Lindberg, Sheridan&Co’s creative director in New York, said: “This was an opportunity to push boundaries for Laura Mercier and set new benchmarks. “The goal was to deliver an aesthetically pleasing and unforgettable retail experience unique to Laura Mercier consumers at Tangs. “The rounded footprint draws the customer and the colors and materials reflect warmth and mirror Laura Mercier’s USP of creating the flawless face.” Sheridan&Co has created retail sites for Laura Mercier for five years. Some of the key elements of the Tangs design – including the curved counters – will be used in new retail sites around the globe.
