The motorway restaurant „MY STOP . Gotthard“ located on the northern end of the famous Gotthard road tunnel now appears with a new interior design, which is in line with the building’s modern architecture. The interior designers of Barmade created a setting of comfort and diversion, reflecting the local landscape and culture.

The design is based on a wooden element which is 48 meters long and occupies the whole length of the room. Out of this element the central tables are formed in different heights. The wooden line symbolizes the traffic connection from north to south throughout the whole canton Uri. It also gives the visitors information about the region: luminaires are placed on the high tables marking the towns and villages along the road.

As a special attraction for the young guests the wooden line at the rear end transforms into a kids’ table with slots creating tracks for toy trains. Barmade devided the room into several zones to create varying seating options and to counteract the vast room. The high walls of the architecture are now used as an oversize panorama board drawing the visitor’s attention towards the surrounding mountain scenery. The modern furnishing and the exciting lighting concept strengthen the attractive atmosphere of the restaurant.
