After the success of their first DIY locations, the owners of Cava Mezze sought to expand upon their business with a new location in Clarendon, VA. The raw concrete of the building is exposed as a textural backdrop to the warm tones of hand painted millwork. Hanging over the dining room are two custom canted light fixtures made of steel and wine bottles. Playing on the nautical nature of the Aegean, the bar is accented with marine hardware and details. The composition of warm, amber colors and woods paired with dark, raw finishes lend the space an intimate and dramatic ambiance.
