Enzo Riggio is a name that rolls right off your tongue, doesn’t it? Its exuberant pronunciation is more than matched by the talent and flair of its owner. Mr. Riggio is a hairdresser/legend who’s been running his own successful salon in Genk for almost 20 years. When a new shopping center was being built in his hometown, he jumped to the opportunity to create his own idea of heaven for hair design.

Creneau came in to create a salon that does justice to Enzo’s stature, not only as a hairdresser, but also as an inspiration and teacher to anyone who craves a beautiful and healthy head of hair. The name of the new salon/specialized shop/classroom is simply “R”. Our ambition was to blend the relaxed, welcoming feel of a high-end salon with a modern and bold twist, using mainly black & white elements, modernist typography and repeating the typical barbershop stripes to create a dazzling effect.

To highlight the ‘mentoring’ aspect, we added some clever classroom references and college design components, making every single costumer feel like they’re entering a place of inspiration,
driven by the pursuit of enduring excellence in hairstyling and hair care. The Italian heritage of Enzo ‘Dean of the Do’ Riggio was also incorporated using mid-century Italian industrial references.
