Japan Canada Oil Sands desired an interior design strategy for their North American headquarters appropriate to both their Japanese ownership and Canadian area of operations. Efficiency and brand expression were also crucial requirements. Jerilyn Wright & Associates created a space that balances contemporary eastern and western design.  A Shou Sugi Ban (black charred wood) feature wall, high-contrast finish palette, crisp detailing, abstract floral imagery, and the expression of Wabi Sabi (appreciation for imperfection) create this balance. Designed to be adaptable, the reception area and adjacent meeting rooms open up into one large space for town hall meetings and company events.
