Panemar Polus Center Bakery by Todor Cosmin Studio, Cluj-Napoca – Romania

October 10th, 2015 by retail design blog

This store is part of the Panemar bakery chain in Cluj-Napoca (Transylvania, Romania). The idea behind the creative concept is the reinterpretation and revival of traditional values in a contemporary manner. The design was meant to reveal brand values – passion, confidence, but also to encompass the essence of the products – freshness, naturalness and simplicity.

The furniture, the floor, also the decorative logs and the volumetric logo found on one of the lateral walls are all made of natural, rough wood, resembling the colour of wheat. The central element is the countertop, a combination of wood and glass cubes that appear to be suspended above a pattern made out of ceramic pieces. The fresh feel derives from the shades of green of the upholstery that covers the chairs, armchairs and sofas.

The combination of natural and fresh comes in contrast with the industrial style of the ceiling on which the electrical wiring is visible, the brick walls and large windows with a metal frame, giving it a loft-style appearance. Everything blends perfectly to create a warm, simple and welcoming feel.
