“Children are not small adults”

Being the low fertility and aging society, children’s health has been drawing more attention and more children’s hospitals are being built accordingly. Children’s hospital requires facility and equipment adhered to children’s disease characteristics, body, and psychology. Because children are inclined to feel fear and anxiety at hospitals, hospital needs to provide stable yet bright atmosphere that can induce their curiosity.

Kyunghee I Korean Medical Clinic is a children’s clinic located in Jingwang-dong. Because the space is for children, we have used birch as finishing material to reduce cold feelings and offer natural warm atmosphere. Warm and comfortable space reduces anxiety while inducing curiosity.

We have added roof on the overall space to give coziness to children and parents, and we made doctorˇŻs office and treatment space open so the children can watch doctor caring for patients, to reduce their anxiety while waiting.
