We’ve helped achieve Louboutin’s brand vision by designing retail experiences that reflect the brand and the man himself. This has seen us recently work on the Canadian Toronto flagship store, the new concession in Selfridges Manchester, the mens concession in Harrods and the transformed beauty counter in Selfridges London. The new Toronto store is a place of playful discovery that’s set to delight customers and ignite their imaginations into the world of Louboutin. Set over 2,625 square feet on two floors, the new design is inspired by the concept of an enchanted forest, a fairy tale full of abstracted forms, botanical beauty and Victorian detailing.

Design highlights include floor to ceiling white trees, enveloping the existing structure of the building. Small pockets, like forest clearings showcase the collections displayed on plinths with silver birch wallpaper setting the woodland scene. Downstairs in womenswear, products will sit pride of place on mirrored-top fretwork display plinths, inspired by fruits of the forest nestled amongst the trees. A central forest clearing heroes key products in illuminated niches, with antique brass branches extending to the ceiling. Additional antique brass fretwork screens encircle the plinth, mimicking the off-white ‘trees’ and segmenting the space to create the feeling of a forest glade.

At the back of the store, double-height forest trees reach up through the atrium and wrap around the stairs, leading customers upstairs to menswear. The second floor features a cabin-in-the-woods feel, with darker colours and casual vintage furniture. The feature wall housing men’s bags is designed to create a dense canopy feel, with the dark walnut making the space very distinct from the more ethereal feel of the floor downstairs.

And of course any Christian Louboutin design would not be complete without the brand’s signature red. The iconic red, famous from woman’s soles runs through the design in both the luxurious carpet and the outside of the building, making the store truly unique, yet distinctively Louboutin.
