For some young people in Beijing, Golden Week holiday 2016 was an opportunity to comprehend mathematical subject in hands-on manner. For five days at the beginning of October, children and parents were populating the west entrance area to 798 art zone building temporary popup spaces.
The Golden Week, is the name given to a 7-day national holiday in the People’s Republic of China. This year www.collectivepaperaesthetics.com were part of the 798 International Children Art Festival program, offering variety of art disciplines for Beijing’s children to experience through doing.
1,000 Heart board pyramid play-units were made for the 798 International Children Art Festival. The work made from kraft cardboard in order to make the product 100% recycled. Every play unit is possible to use for several times and when it is not possible to reuse anymore – the material itself can be recycled.
At the fifth and last day of the festival the 360 building courtyard was inhabited by Mega Heart structure, Four-sided pyramid, Three-sided pyramid, Igloo and many spheres, stars and fragments of heart work. In two hours and with 10 busy hands the work was unfolded and packed for the coming 798 children art festivals in China.
