As an affiliate brand of A.P.C., Paris-based women’s label Vanessa Seward not only enjoys the patronage, but also the financial backing of its owner and style guru Jean Touitou. The initial capsule collections have resonated well with A.P.C.’s female clientele, resulting in a select number of Touitou’s boutiques across the planet to stock Seward’s pieces alongside his own creations. Since two years, the Vanessa Seward brand has become full-fledged enterprise with seasonal collections and an expanding network of boutiques that signals a global success. Following openings in the french capital and Los Angeles, the brand has shifted back its focus to the old continent, launching a boutique in London’s happening Notting Hill area, and as it happens, a few doors down the road from A.P.C.’s outpost in the neighbourhood.
The retail unit measures a compact 461 sq.ft. [approx. 43 sqm.] but features incorporates the full range of design codes as laid down by Laurent Deroo, the French architect who has designed all of Vanessa Seward’s boutiques. Prussian blue, pretty much the brand’s signature colour, adorns the façade, but also extends well into the shop, anchoring a palette of lacquered timber, mirrors, marbled flooring and displays, and warm brass accents. The new London outpost carries Vanessa Seward’s full range of ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, and accessories.
