As a shopping destination, Bangkok has a lot to offer, even to the most jaded. The city is dotted with alluring malls, and in recent times, many have upped the ante, increasing not only the quality and quantity of their offerings, but also renovating entire settings to keep up with the requirements of today’s shopping demographic. The Wonder Room, a popular multibrand women’s boutique at Siam Center, has taken duly note and recently unveiled its renewed and expanded store to its large following. The retailer tapped Tokyo-based design office Nendo to come up with an aesthetic that would be compatible with its mix of on-trend fashion collections, and created a playful setting that instills a strong sense of discovery. And not just a random discovery, but an exploration of an art studio brimming with masterpieces.

Now enlarged to a sizeable 200 sqm. [2,153 sq.ft.], the Wonder Room flaunts a graphic palette of bold multi-coloured stripes as a backdrop of studio prerequisites such as a canvas frame, easel and photo frame. As said, it’s a multibrand store, and now with expanded premises, more than 40 edgy Thai and Korean brands are showcased that exclusively cater to the Thai capital’s trendoid demographic. The brand list includes coveted names such as Kanapot Aunsorn, Low Classic, Ratthzart Studio, Vippy Rose, and Porshz, in addition to swimwear and cosmetics. Last but not least, the so-called Wonder Room collection of exclusive items celebrates the store reopening, and designer Vinn Patararin and jewellery brand La co-designed a capsule collection.
