FENKO Catalysis Chamber is an art paper brand whose customers are mostly artists and designers. The store space used to be part of the Suho Paper Culture Museum, which is still situated next door. The renovation project was led by Taipei-based architect, (Ü)robrous_studiolab. FENKO wanted to preserve the heritage of the interior space, while taking on a more contemporary spirit. Some of the custom furniture, such as the sliding drawers were inherited from the museum and modified by the architect. Custom built, magnetic aluminum frames are mounted on the walls, allowing the brand to display its paper samples in a simple way that won’t damage the paper itself. The project won the Golden Pin Design Award 2018 for spatial design.
