Located in Wanchai district with stunning mixture of old and new urban fabric, In-between Architects re-design the Canton Room, Chinese Restaurant famous for their traditional Cantonese cuisine in Luk Kwok Hotel.

The design of Canton Room is Inspired by the novel ‘The World of Suzie Wong’ which was written by British writer Richard Mason in 1957. He stayed for four months in Luk Kwok Hotel to finish the book.

This new hidden gem is articulated with subtle elements from the 60s, including the curves of Qi Piao (Suzie Wong’s outfit), patterned glass, dark greenish wallpaper and carpet that resonates to the theme of old Hong Kong – the hue and fluidity of Victoria harbour and colour of ferries and trams.

Designer: Ivan Wong & Michelle Kwok

Lighting Designer: Delighting Art

Custom made carpet: EGE Carpets
