Centre Base was given the task of delivering the Sony offices a relaxing and approachable environment in Hong Kong. Centre Base designed the Sony offices to be “Chillax” for their location in Hong Kong.
In regard of the post-pandemic workplace, Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited decided to fully adopt agile workplace design after thorough discussion and consideration. Besides being agile, the client also wished to leave their employees as well as guests and customers an impression of “Chill” and “Relax”.
With this objective, the design team set out to create a flexible layout which allows flexibility on the activity-based work points. Since all employees, including senior management, do not have fixed desk, the design team created a design which comprised of different kinds of flexible workspace, like hot desk, phone booth, meeting pod, focus seat, work cafe as well as high bench. Hence, the new design offered more spaces for group discussions and activity-based activities. It also leveraged the great sea view that the employees all enjoy very much by locating the work cafe and working bench near it. It’s grateful that the recognition for “Chillax” and “New Working Style” are well received from stakeholders.
The design not only recognized by the users, it also received the “General Affairs Award” which is a notable recognition from Sony China Regional Environmental Office.
