Only a couple of blocks away from its original Vancouver store in the Gastown neighbourhood, Herschel has upped the ante at its home base by opening a brand new flagship store. Situated in the West End district, the retail space occupies 2,800 sq.ft. (260 sqm.) on the ground floor of a low-rise building on Robson Street, one of the city’s most popular shopping arteries, which allows the brand a full showcase of its extensive range of merchandise. The interior design, created by Herschel‘s in-house design team, sees a clean and contemporary aesthetic with a keen eye for merchandising and display. Product sections are colour-coded and have clear demarcations while the overall design entices shoppers to explore much more of the Herschel offerings than they anticipated. The lifestyle vibe of the interior design is further boosted with comfy seating sections, but also through a curated selection of vintage pieces, art, a collection of well-traveled items and potted plants. The new Herschel flagship store carries a wide range of backpacks, duffles, luggage, travel accessories, and apparel pieces. But that’s not all. Being a meeting place for kindred spirits, it’s also home to Herschel Supply Book Fair, a curated reading area brimming with books and magazines on art, architecture, travel and other lifestyle topics, and the store has a rotating events programme, presenting artists, designers and musicians, making every visit adventurous and fun.
