Morgan Lovell designed a collaborative space with nature elements for their own space in Bracknell, England. This project by Morgan Lovell is a comprehensive redesign of our own office space in late 2021. At the heart of the design was consideration for our people’s needs, their wellbeing and productivity, in order to create a destination office that people would choose to return to after being at home during the pandemic.

The design incorporates quiet, mid-level and high-energy zones, from cosy private booths to open collaboration zones, facilitating a wide variety of working styles. To encourage the collaboration and interaction that the business relies on, direct lines of sight run through the office and create a strong sense of community amongst our employees. Opening up the breakout space with sliding barn doors means the whole team can meet for lunch and learn sessions. Ergonomic desks and adjustable lighting have proven popular, allowing employees to have more control over their own work environment.

We connected light and nature through neutral tones, natural materials and biophilia throughout, bringing nature into the space to create a calm and vibrant atmosphere, working to improve our people’s wellbeing.

Our office is a place to work, and it doubles as an important showroom when clients come to visit. It was therefore crucial that the design balanced a cohesive theme while displaying a wide range of products and finishes, enabling clients to touch and feel the quality options that are available.

Our commitment to achieving net zero by 2030 meant carbon reduction was paramount to this project. The project achieved a SKA Gold, the highest rating from the environmental assessment method, benchmark and standard for non-domestic fit outs. SKA covers energy, CO2 emissions, waste, water, materials, pollution, wellbeing and transport, all of which were considered on this project. Air quality and energy usage are continuously tracked via apps to ensure a healthy environment. Workplace technology is driving the future of offices and we’ve embraced it fully, also making full use of touch screens and state-of-the-art audio-visual systems virtually connecting clients and teams .

We look forward to being in the office and our clients are impressed by the beautiful, agile space. When visitors say, “I want an office like this,” we know it’s a job well done.
