Following an ephemeral presence at Shinsaibashi PARCO department store in Osaka one-and-a-half years ago, cult jewellery and fashion brand AMBUSH has returned with a permanent shop-in-shop. Situated on the second floor, the so-called AMBUSH WORKSHOP, sees a homey setting interspersed with elements of construction sites and industrial frameworks that form the very foundation of the brand’s design concept, such as timber textures and khaki-coloured flooring. A large, dark timber display table with a glass top, brimming with jewellery pieces, takes centre stage, and is flanked by a matching sales counter, which partly wraps around a support pillar with recessed tiered shelving. Apparel pieces are presented one one side wedged in between floor-to-ceiling timber panels, while directly opposite, in a recessed nook. Adding a distinctly homey edge to the retail setting is a design classic—an LC4 chaise-longue by Le Corbusier. The new AMBUSH WORKSHOP stocks a selection of men’s and women’s jewellery pieces, apparel items and shoes. © superfuture
