TAUBÍN is a boutique hostel designed by SALTO in a protected late 19th-century building in Granada’s historic centre. The project transforms the former house into a serene contemporary accommodation while preserving its domestic character and original spatial organisation.

A sequence of patios continues to structure circulation throughout the building, beginning with the traditional zaguán and connecting spaces through light, shadow and depth. Existing elements such as Sierra Elvira stone, ironwork, columns, wood and the original well are integrated into the new intervention, while Cabra limestone introduces a subtle new layer to the patio.

New requirements, including vertical accessibility, are incorporated without disrupting the building’s original logic. In the guest rooms, the architectural language becomes more restrained, combining neutral tones, natural ceramic accents and a limited material palette to create a calm atmosphere.

The result is a contemporary intervention rooted in the character and material memory of the original Granada house
