German designer Lennart Klein creates products that aim to generate a sense of collaboration and community through their use and experience. ‘Repair it!’ is a pop-up workshop that from time to time is taken to the streets of Bremen to fix the citizen’s broken bicycles, while teaching them how to do it with a set of decent tools. For the ‘Repair it’ team, ‘repairing means more to us than just fixing things. To us it is about taking control over our possessions, joy, and education.’

The workshop consists of two different modules: the first one is a field kitchen one featuring a gas cooker and storage space for food, water, and cooking supplies. The second model is a transportation module for tools and spare parts. The chosen material and color pallet is a stark reminder of the design aesthetics found in hardware stores, workshops and sheds around the world. the so-called readymade plays a vital role in the design of the pop-up workshop.

Mass manufactured and well-proven parts in combination with a simple wood structure enable the reproduction of the modules and let you embrace the idea of the repair it! initiative by yourself.
