A Swabian tapas bar in the small town of Markdorf. Surely that can’t end well. LUDWIG proves it can. With a surprising and ever-changing menu, the small restaurant manages to stand out from the other local restaurants. The fusion of southern German hospitality and culinary influences from around the world is also reflected in the furnishings. The tables and shelves are made from maritime pine panels. Stamped symbols alluding to sea cargo and two large, old suitcases illustrate the restaurateur’s idea: we bring the world to Markdorf.

LUDWIG is rather cosmopolitan. The town never had an urban-style bar before, and people love the longer opening hours. It’s cosy at LUDWIG, and relaxed. A bit like your living room at home. And yet, you’re among people, smiling staff and cheerful guests. People feel happy here. LUDWIG has what it takes to become a favourite restaurant.
