Before renovation, we saw that a husband ran an appliance store in one half of the space, which was divided by shelves, and the other half was the coffee roastery space that a wife operates. I asked her “How about if we combine your coffee roastery with your husband’s appliance store and remodel it as one store?” and so the project started. The store names “Shimura Appliances” and “Mister Beans” were combined into one: “Shimura Denki(Appliance) Coffee Roaster.” We designed it, including graphic design, as one store. It is a store where the husband and wife can enjoy connecting with each other, without “putting a wall up.” As a result, it became the exact space I imagined when I first visited.
