Westbrook Interiors’ Offices in Dubai reflect the evolving narrative of both the company and the city, fusing multiple design languages into a dynamic, character-driven workspace that encourages collaboration.
Located in the heart of Dubai, the Design & Build head office reflects not only the journey of the company, but also the evolution of the city it proudly grew alongside. What began in 2009 as a modest office interior combining two small units gradually expanded over the years into a fully integrated workspace through the addition of adjacent units. Much like Dubai, a city constantly reinventing itself, the office evolved organically with every stage of growth, adapting itself to new ways of working, new teams, and the ever-changing language of interiors.
What once comfortably accommodated a close-knit team of 10 to 15 people gradually transformed into a vibrant workplace supporting nearly 60 professionals across design, estimation, sales and operations. As the company evolved from an interior fit-out firm into a more comprehensive design-build practice, the office naturally absorbed new layers of character, functionality, and identity. Each phase of expansion became more than just an addition of space – it became a reflection of the company’s growth, ambitions, and evolving culture.
Rather than redesigning the office as a singular concept at one point in time, the space evolved gradually through different phases, each representing a chapter in the company’s journey and the changing trends of Dubai’s ever-evolving design landscape. The result today is a layered and character-driven workspace where every corner carries a story of growth, transition, and adaptation.
The office intentionally balances multiple design languages while maintaining a cohesive spatial experience throughout. The design and estimation departments were planned with a more contemporary and functional approach to encourage focus, technical collaboration, and operational efficiency. In contrast, the sales and client interaction zones embrace a more industrial-inspired aesthetic, reflecting the energy and social interaction associated with the company’s business development culture.
One of the most deliberate strategies within the office planning was the placement of meeting rooms at both the entrance and the rear end of the office. This subtle transition allows clients to experience the office environment organically as they move through the space, offering glimpses into the culture, workflow, and collaborative nature of the company.
While larger meeting rooms remain essential, the designers also recognized the growing importance of flexibility and privacy within modern workplaces. Smaller meeting booths and quiet rooms were therefore carefully integrated throughout the office to accommodate focused discussions, virtual meetings, and one-on-one client conversations in a more intimate setting.
The most recent transformation came in 2025 with the redesign of the reception area and adjacent workspace – envisioned & inspired by the calmness of desert dunes and earthy textures. The space integrates warm neutral tones and sustainable materials such as rattan, thoughtfully curated by the architects at Westbrook and the result is a reception that feels grounded, welcoming, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
The final phase of expansion surrounding the reception area was intentionally designed to create a calm yet dynamic collaborative hub. An informal meeting zone seamlessly connecting with the workstation areas and a thoughtfully designed pantry-cum-breakout space was carefully orchestrated to allow the space to effortlessly transition into a town hall setting for larger team discussions, presentations, and internal events — a strategy intentionally developed in response to the needs of an expanding team culture.
Today, the office stands as more than just a workplace, it stands as a reflection of a space with depth, personality, and character shaped over years of transformation with a human-centred design philosophy. Because a workplace should never feel like a place where people come to work. It should feel more like a space where people feel connected, inspired, and comfortable enough to grow together while genuinely enjoying being part of the environment.
