The first flagship store for the brand known for its rubberized coats opened on Mount street in London. The shop consists of two levels: the ground floor and the basement. The store interior is designed so that the use of very basic materials such as wood and glass, reflecting the strong craftsmanship identity that remains in the brand, make the boutique appear as if it has always been there. Together with the unique location, such elements that symbolize the historical aspect is well balanced with the more modern aspect represented through the slim, sharp lighting and the see-through display stage on the ground floor revealing the basement, successfully express the Mackintosh’s brand identity.
