Shoebaloo Maastricht is the newest branch of the famous designer shoe store chain. The 6th store is situated in the historic and chic Stokstraat in Maastricht’s city centre. The Stokstraat is a monumental street in Maastricht’s city centre lined with wonderful, historical listed buildings including Shoebaloo Maastricht’s new premises.

The facade was left unaltered out of respect for the building’s cultural heritage by redesigning only its display windows. Oval forms hint at the interior’s design, but otherwise restrict the line of sight into the store from the street in much the same way as looking into a kaleidoscope.

On entering the store, you are transported into a different world – a cave-like interior. Its design resembles eroded layers in a canyon that have been recessed or jut out towards you. Alternating layers with shiny edges and matt-leather surfaces create a dynamic and exciting landscape, the nooks and crannies of which are ideal for displaying Shoebaloo’s unusual collections. The cash desk and handbag/accessory display cabinets have also been blended seamlessly into the lines of the shoe displays.
