Crafted design by Studio 48 London for Meantime Brewing Company’s new Tasting Rooms and Brewery Shop. Meantime Brewing Company (Meantime), pioneers of modern craft beer in the UK, launch their Tasting Rooms with an all encompassing retail and bar offering to supplement the already popular guided tours and as a destination for beer lovers and locals.
The Tasting Rooms and shop reflect Meantime’s continued dedication to raising the bar of British brewing and changing the way people think about beer. Founder of Meantime Brewing Company, Alistair Hook, explains, “ The Tasting Rooms is a fully immersive experience for consumers, bringing them even closer to the action and allowing them to eat, drink and shop right here in the brewery. Studio 48 London has reflected our passion for both tradition and innovation, creating a multi-purpose space where the bar and retail offering seamlessly flow together”.
With the dramatic back drop of giant silver maturation vessels, the new retail space fully immerses the consumer in Meantime’s modern craft beer universe from the beginning of their visit to the brewery. The shop has interactive ipads, a central circular aluminum table and stools, warm natural wood, and bespoke units carrying Meantime merchandise and lifestyle apparel. The shop also houses an impressive cold store room, allowing visitors to purcase chilled beer to enjoy later at home. The Tasting Rooms bring the consumer even closer to the brewing process, allowing them to enjoy high quality food matched specially to Meantime’s range of beers. The bar interior has a blend of different textures (reclaimed wood, distressed leather, piecemeal ceramic and rectangular floor tiles) with retro style chairs and stools and utilitarian steel tables in neutral tones, against exposed brickwork and pipes. The result is a warm, crafted, urban and open space that nods to Meantime’s focus on craft, heritage and modernity.
Gabriel Murray, Creative Strategist at Studio 48 London said “With local, craft beer now amongst the most popular trends we have loved designing the new customer experience for Meantime. The intergration between brewing tasting shoping drinking and eating has been a fasinating challenge. I believe our creative flair and experience has enabled us to help craft something special in the sector.”
