It’s not just a pop-up store, but also signals the unabated importance of Japan as a luxury market. We’re talking Prada’s ephemeral retail space at Isetan Shinjuku, one of Tokyo’s leading department stores, and it’s stocked with a string of exclusive men’s items, and merchandise from the Italian brand’s A/W 2017 collection. Amidst a specially designed setting, featuring Prada’s iconic black + white checkered floor, furnishings comprising of large trunks, in addition to shelving and props in shiny chrome.

Specially designed wallpaper with an urban motif clads the pop-up store’s walls. So, what’s in store? The most coveted trophy on the premises undoubtedly is a tote bag – mind you, it’s a world exclusive – that’s customizable with leather velcro stickers, a first for Prada, and which are also sold separately. Additional merchandise includes t-shirts, a jacket, backpacks, clutch bags and briefcases using rumfer. It is a pleasant opportunity to see the items of the 2017 Autumn / Winter men’s collection as soon as possible [open through jun 27].
