There’s only one luxury brand which can pull of a exhibition dedicated to its merchandise on a scale this big, and that’s obviously Louis Vuitton. Celebrating a rather astounding 160 years of creative exchanges and collabs, the French luxury behemoth has installed an immersive exhibition on one of the planet’s most prestigious shopping grounds: Rodeo Drive. Set across two floors of a building on the corner of Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard, the show is simply called Louis Vuitton X, and is an elaborate display of the brand’s many artist collabs as well as ready-to-wear pieces from Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, Nicolas Ghesquière, and of course, Virgil Abloh, all in different settings. Additionally, Louis Vuitton has seized the opportunity to present six new collaborations with artists Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self, and Jonas Wood. Each has interpreted the label’s Capucines bag, named after the location of the first Louis Vuitton store at home base Paris (open through Sep 15).
