“Oryouri Horikawa” is traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant. It is located on Tenmabashi, Osaka. They have 16 seats (include counter seats and single room). People can relax and enjoy their fabulous cuisine on the selected special dishes that are suitable for their food. There is no audio equipment in the restaurant, it means people just can enjoy their food in silence and the extraordinary time there with calm conversation. We put 3 colors plastering on the facade wall. That is the design of river image from the name of the restaurant, “Hori-kawa” (means small river in Japanese). Lighting indirectly curvy walk path is designed as the guide through inside gently. Just pass through an entrance curtain, “Noren”, there is a stone walking path with small Japanese garden.
We try to design the walking path the guest can enjoyed the Japanese garden at first sight and the wall on the back of garden are made by special technique that we can see the grain of wood, it helps describing an aesthetic space. The floor inside the restaurant, we put “Hifumi-Ishi”. It is a traditional Japanese floor making technique, putting small stones at random and make an accent on the mortar floor elegantly. We used “African Cherry”, natural board for the counter table. The counter table is made up specially the wide and depth ordered by the chef. Behind the kitchen, we also designed the “River” image by the curvy colored plastering. The guest can enjoy the cooking scene and conversation with the owner shef.
Single room -The Space is designed as the Japanese traditional royal residence, “Katsura-Rikyu”. We painted the mortar floor as a color of “Tatami (Japanese traditional house floor)”. Wallpaper is the real “Kara-kami”, it is also Japanese traditional material. The guest can feel real Japanese traditional special space.
Bathroom – We just want to put the special impression in the bathroom. We used special wall paper with gold leaf on all walls and the ceiling. The guest can not stop feel luxury and special.
